I don’t know. I have contradictory feelings about it. It’s definitely touching, but there’s other stuff implicit in it that gnaws a bit in the background.
This ad aired in a very sensitive and confusing time, very soon after 9/11.
I simply saw it as a sort of graceful and touching sympathy card from the Budweiser Corporation to the many Americans who would be tuned to the Superbowl that day.
It definitely resonated with the “Gentle Giants” of Nevada County fame, and that made it local for me.
In the cynical view I would have thought of the ad as schmaltzy and manipulative, but at the time I had no cynicism in me, just grief, and so was comforted by it.
Guess some of us are just saps.
I watched it, no sound deliberately, wife sleeping. Visually excellent. I was afraid the towers were going to show up in the distance. From reading the other comments, I think that I would enjoy the audio as well. Wait until tomorrow. BTW, Sierra College Football shots up at:
It brought tears to the eyes of my entire family….what a touching tribute from Budwiser. The Horses all dressed in their very best paying such tribute with unbelievable grace. AMEN….
“”I believe that grief needs to private,” he says. “That doesn’t mean that help can’t be given to those who are grieving — it should be given. But you don’t make a spectacle out of it. You don’t stand up as a politician and wallow in it. And as the media, you don’t wallow in it. It’s not to deny the tragedy. It’s to question the utility of public grief.”
Yes, it was aired again yesterday. I just looked up at the right time resting while shopping. At the end was added ……”we will never forget”. I started to cry as this date is also my son’s birthday. So glad it was played again. I love those gentle horses.
Nice!
With tears in my eyes, I’ve forwarded this on to others.

It aired again during the Niner vs. Seahawks game 8 minutes in to Q1.
I did see this, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t watch the Superbowl.

it showed again a couple hours ago …with an added line at the end of it…”we will never forget”
With grace and dignity the Budweiser Corp are all class. Always love the Clydesdales in all their commercials, but this memorial tops them all.

I agree they should air the Budweiser horse commercial more often, it gave me goose bumps, Job well done.
This is the BEST Super Bowel commercial I have ever seen. it brought tears to my eyes!
This always brings me to tears, no matter how many times I have watched it. Thank you Budweiser Corp. This commemoration of 9/11 is all class.
