“Gregory Chad Wallin-Reed, 36, of Reno, Nev., faces eight felony counts, including murder, after he admitted opening fire on the Susanville men during a car chase.
“Wallin-Reed, who called the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office after the shooting, said the men stole solar lights from his residence along the Janesville grade. Officers later found two solar lights in the men’s car.
“A sign warning trespassers on Wallin-Reed’s driveway read WARNING:

“This is a restricted area. Only Red Blooded Patriotic Christian Americans Are Authorized For Access Upon Approval And Verification Of Credentials By The Commanding Authority

If you reject the truth that Man is made in the image of God, then yes homo sapiens are only one among many animals.
This is where Peter Singer or Garrett Hardin have taken us and thus they believe not only in aborting the unborn, but evaluating all human life on the basis of quality, and once that door is open, convenience is never far behind as another standard.
So let me ask a question related to weapons and violence since that is what started the discussion: IF man is just another [notice that I refrained from saying more advanced out of respect for your world view], animal, then was it wrong for Pol Pot to try and better organize his nation even though it meant the deaths of a few million people? Nature does this all the time when a herd overgrows the food supply. That is what he learned in the French Universities so I just wonder if you agree.

The “Great Divide”, this is what it means to be free to choose your own neighbors.
Sell wallin’s property to help pay for his jail sentence. I’ll bet those lights will be worth a whole lot, since they’ve been paid for in blood. There are signs like these in Nevada County. Love to get reprints of this story, and post them on the gates with the signs…. You know, like, “watch for children, dogs, shotgun…” Not hard to spot this mentality.
And add to the reprint a post,
“We’re watching you and just itching to take the witness stand if you lose it too.”
We need a circle sign with a slash through the image of an exploding head.

When one human being can take the life and threaten the lives of 6 other human beings over a $? light, we have either hit a tipping point or we have someone who is mentally compromised. There is no need to comment on the alleged perpetrator signs, they speak for themselves. That 20 year old (mentally a kid) has had his life taken for a few dollar prank. I hope one day we can shift from a materialistic consumer based society to one that values life and especially quality of life over material wealth.
This incident shows we have a long way to go.
Those “signs” are evidence of a diseased mind, and should not be dismissed so lightly. Should some of your friends from out of town get lost in the dark and stumble into one of these lairs, they may be the next victims.
Wonder if the kids even saw the signs, quite possibly they didn’t. At a level lower, many in the area attempt to “scare off” people using perfectly legitimate right-of-ways by posting “Private Road.” It may be privately maintained, but it is still a public right-of-way, and nobody has any business putting in locked gates, scary references to calls to the sheriff, etc.
