Editor’s note: People often don’t sign their names on the right-wing blogs in our community (not a requirement), so you never can be sure who “JohnS” is, though this person has been ID’ed in the past by other readers. But here’s a comment that popped up this weekend on Russ Steele’s blog after Steele entertained the idea (“extreme” in my mind) of reorganizing California into two or more states — Coastal California and Sierra California.
Got news for you George. The lefties have been working on the “kick you out” scenario for the last 10 or 20 years. They will simply ruin the economy, lock up the resources, make it too difficult to do anything, and put an end to growth of any kind, and when you have had enough, you will move. Bingo, they get the state all to them selves.
The problem is, you care about stuff, they don’t.”

I hope this isn’t a nonpartisan elected in our county, who draws a salary and benefits from taxpayers (including our family). But if it is, it doesn’t seem very nonpartisan. You’re supposed to work across the aisle to solve the nonpartisan problems in our community.
But there’s an upside for “JohnS”: I think a real estate agent could copy this statement, hand it out along with the MLS listings that go out to would-be residents and never have to worry about any family from a Coastal community or other California confine plunking down $500K or more for a home around here. The offended parties who “care about stuff” could have it all to themselves and never have to worry about being “kicked out.”
Exit question: Would incoming county supervisor Terry Lamphier, no matter how “nutty” on the left many people think he might be, write something like this, having been elected to a nonpartisan post?
Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I still live in California. Unbelievable.
