The Nevada City Advocate continues — with owners in South Dakota

The publishers/owners of the Nevada City Advocate have moved to Rapid City, S.D., but they will continue to publish the free monthly with a local staff of reporters and sales people, according to several sources.

Though the news is making the rounds in the community, I could not yet find a mention of this on the Advocate’s website.

Wishing them the best of luck on both counts. They plan to visit regularly.

When I was in graduate school at Northwestern University, I was a D.C. correspondent for the Rapid City Journal. It’s a beautiful part of the country.

The Union is owned by a Carson City-based newspaper chain.
