Where were you during the O.J. car chase?

On this day in 1994, O.J. Simpson was chased across Los Angeles by the city’s finest before he was arrested at his home in Brentwood.

The scene riveted people to the television. Now ESPN has produced a documentary about this “fascinating Friday” 16 years ago. We saw it last night, and it was made of archival news footage, some of it raw.

On that day, Arnold Palmer was playing his final round at the U.S. Open, the New York Knicks were battling the Houston Rockets, and the World Cup was kicking off in Chicago, according to the Los Angeles Times.

So where were you that day? After work at The Chronicle, we were at the M&M bar — a newspaper hangout down the street from the paper (where Steve Cottrell, among others, worked).
